The
first Hacienda del Álamo golf course is a masterpiece
thanks to the painstaking work of Dave Thomas, who had all
the land he could want to design it, with this idea in mind:
There were no limits. That is to say, first he made the
"dream" field, with no restrictions on space,
as if nothing else existed. For this reason, the first golf
course is one of the best in Europe. It is no less than
92 hectares. It is wide, with long holes, spacious, and
with many lakes. It is very soft, because it is built on
natural terrain. The Hacienda del Alamo is a new Spanish
golf resort in Murcia, with views stretching over the landscaped
gardens, two 18 hole golf courses and a 36 bay driving range
putting greens and fully equipped golfing academy. Of the
huge 5,500,000 square meters of Hacienda del Alamo only
12% of the land available has been utilized for houses,
leaving ample room for orange, olive, and lime groves as
well as large open spaces so you have plenty of room to
breath. The golf resort is situated in Spain’s "market
garden", protected by the near-by mountains and surrounded
by beautiful open countryside; it provides one of the healthiest
climates in Europe with winter temperature regularly rising
to 20C+ and over 320 days of sunshine a year. The perfect
way to fully enjoy the breathtaking views and clean air
of this unique region of Spain is to follow the landscaped
undulating golf course which has been designed by the world
renowned Dave Thomas and is said to be some of his best
work. The 6,700 m, 18 hole golf course takes advantage of
the space by providing perfectly open holes with well constructed
obstacles, which offer a leisurely five hour round of golf.
This is only the first golf course of the two planned at
the golf resort, and it is already open and fully completed,
the second golf course will be adjacent to the first and
will opening in the near future. Even if you’re not
a golf enthusiast already, watching others enjoy the relaxing
pace of life will soon tempt you out on to the golf course.
